About the Academy of Traditional Karate


The Academy of Traditional Karate is a premiere institution which teaches the classical Okinawan Style of Matsubayashi Shorin-Ryu karate. The Academy employs Internationally Certified Instructors and is an accredited member of Shidokan International.

Kyoshi Todd Keane Promoted to Nanadan - 7th Degree Black Blelt

The Managing Director of the Academy is Kyoshi Todd Keane, a Nanadan (7th degree black belt) in Shorin-Ryu. Kyoshi Keane has studied martial arts for more than 30 years. Prior to starting the Academy, Kyoshi Keane taught karate at Bentley College, where he received a BS in Computer Information Systems and an MBA with a Finance Concentration.

The Assistant Managing Director is Shidoshi Kristen Keane, a Godan (5th degree black belt) in Shorin-Ryu. Kristen has studied martial arts for 20 years, and is a graduate of Merrimack College, and mother of 2 Karate students!

The Academy is conveniently located off Route 93 in Wilmington Massachusetts.
