Dai Nihon Karate-do Tenno Kata
(DNTK, Great Heavenly Japanese Karate Form)

Dai Nihon Karate-do Tenno Katat is a Shotokan form.

This Kata is done from one position, either stepping forward or backward. Repeat each technique listed below four times, always stepping with the right foot first, into a Zenkutsu-dachi (Front-leg-bent stance), for example, step right, step left, step right, step left.

  1. Step Forward, Oi-zuki (Lunge punch) to the Solar Plexus.
  2. Step Forward, Oi-zuki (Lunge punch) to the Chin.
  3. Step Forward, Gyaku-zuki (Reverse punch) to the Solar Plexus.
  4. Step Forward, Gyaku-zuki (Reverse punch) to the Chin.
  5. Step Back, Gedan-barai (Low block), Gyaku-zuki (Reverse punch) to the Solar Plexus.
  6. Step Back, Chudan-uke (Middle block) Gyaku-zuki (Reverse punch) to the Solar Plexus.
  7. Step Back, Open-hand Chudan-uke (Middle block), vertical Nukite (Spear hand) to the
    Solar Plexus.
  8. Step Back, Open-hand Jodan-uke (High block), horizontal Nukite (Spear hand) to the Throat.
  9. Step Back, Jodan-uke (High block), Gyaku-zuki (Reverse punch) to the Solar Plexus.
  10. Step Back, Outside Chest Block, across your body, Gyaku-zuki (Reverse punch) to the Ribs.
