The Academy of Traditional Karate teaches the classical Okinawan Style of Matsubayashi Shorin-Ryu. The Academy offers a variety of programs for all ages with a wholistic focus on all the benefits of martial arts including personal development, better health, stress reduction, and of course self-defense.

Classes are generally one hour, and are run in a traditional fashion. Students wear a white "gi" (karate uniform) and will learn about Japanese culture and some Japanese terms. Classes focus on the three areas of classical karate-do: kihon (basics), kata (forms) and kumite (sparring) along with a strong character development program.

Little Dragons Ages 3-5	Little Samurai Ages 4-7	Karate Kids Ages 7-12	Teens Ages 13-16	Adults Ages 17+

The Academy’s World-class Curriculum

• Little Dragons, for children 3 to 5 years old
• Little Samurai, for children 4 to 7 years old
• Karate Kids, for kids 7 to 12 years old
• Teens, for teens 13 to 16 years old
• Adults, for those 17 years and older
• Doshi Kai, for students on their way to earning their Black Belt

Intermediate students (gold belt and above) are eligible for Doshi Kai classes and (purple belt and above) are eligible to begin instruction in kobudo (classic Okinawan weapons).
